Fellows from Mujeres con Dignidad y Derecho of Panama participated in a campaign to raise awareness on violence against women.

On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Panamanian fellows were part of the Great Interinstitucional Trek whose motto was: «Come together Panama, the responsibility lies in everyone. Women’s Life without Violence is a right». The aim of the event was making visible the campaign “Join to End Violence against Women”, that the Government of President Ricardo Martinelli Berrocal has been promoting since November 2009, following the commitments made to the campaign of the UN General Secretary.

In addition, a series of videos against Stigma, Discrimination and HIV prevention made by the Grupo Génesis Panama Positivo and Mujeres con Dignidad y Derecho were launched within an awareness campaign to prevent discrimination against homosexuals, transsexuals and female sex workers. The activity also seeks to raise awareness about condom use.
