After many years of work, we have seen many positive changes within our organizations, in social understandings of sex work and in the personal growth of women sex workers. In this report we will share and account for the strategies and activities we have been implementing to achieve these changes.
Three years ago, the Latin American and Caribbean Women Sex Workers’ Network (RedTraSex) launched the Regional Project «Latin American and Caribbean women sex workers creating alternatives to decrease their vulnerability to HIV: A regional strategy for real impact», supported by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GF).
This Project leveraged and gave greater momentum to the work the Network had already been doing to empower ourselves as sex workers, make violations against our human rights visible and create mechanisms to reverse the undignified conditions in which we work.
After many years of work, we have seen many positive changes within our organizations, in social understandings of sex work and in the personal growth of women sex workers. In this report we will share and account for the strategies and activities we have been implementing to achieve these changes, through two phases of this Project: 2012-2013 and 2014-2016.
