Policy advocacy and very close the «Network of Sex Workers of Colombia»

On June 24, ASMUBULI fellows held a meeting with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and with the Ombudsman to set some priorities for resolving the problems and needs of sex workers women in Ipiales commune. It was attended by representatives of both institutions and 55 female sex worker fellows from ASMUBULI. One of the main themes was the need to strengthen training in STI and HIV/AIDS at the frontiers. They also spoke of the intention to coordinate with the Departmental Health Institute of Nariño Department in order to increase and speed the provision of condoms to sex workers women in the commune.
 
And also, on August 9, the representative Fidelia Suarez met with Dr. Ricardo Luque, President of the Country Coordinating Mechanism, to organize the formation of the office of the «Network of Sex Worker Women in Colombia», a project in which ASMUBULI has been working from several months and is closer to become a reality.
