The Government Board of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, held a meeting in Bulgaria in mid-December and approved the 10th Round of funding for a sum amounting to 1.8 billion dollars.
As is known, the Regional Project presented by REDTRASEX was one of the elected. What follows is a series of administrative steps before the signing of the grant, including a performance plan agreed with the Board and the agreement of final budget.
In most countries, sex workers women’s organizations that form REDTRASEX also worked on local processes related to proposals for the final round, participating actively in the Country Coordinating Mechanisms meetings and in the preparation of national proposals.
Good news is they have also approved the proposals of Argentina, Colombia, Honduras, Panama, Peru and Uruguay, so that sex workers women from these countries will be also executors of funds provided to develop actions aimed at the national sector.
