We are subjects of law

The Organización Unidas por la Esperanza de Paraguay (UNES) organized a meeting at their headquarters with the participation of more than 40 fellows.

Compañeras festejan en UNES el Día internacional de la Trabajadora Sexual

UNES met with fellow sex workers from various regions of Paraguay, with who was valued the work the organization is doing.

The opportunity was taken to evaluate the spaces that the organization occupies, dealing with the rights and obligations involved. Regarding networking and positioning of UNES, the organization has grown, that’s why on June 2 they celebrated it along with members of PRONASIDA and the Information Center and Resource Development (DNIC).

According to the protagonists of the event, the most substantial change they have seen in relation to the first events for the International Day of Female Sex Workers is the current impact they achieve. "We are more that we join on this day to remember our fellows fallen in the struggle for their rights, and the message we wanted to give is that we, female sex workers, recognize ourselves as subjects of law, and that we are contributing the country our bit", remarked the UNES fellows.

The growth of the organization and of the female sex workers who compose it, the increasing networking, the articulation and the political positioning have allowed UNES to have more national weight and a greater intervention in public policies that affect them.

There are too many reasons to celebrate in UNES, and from RedTraSex we accompany them and celebrate their growth.
