On June 2 it was commemorated —for the first time in the history of Chile— the International Day of Female Sex Workers.

Fellows from Fundación Margen held an act in the streets on Saturday with the female sex workers who work there.

After a moment of reflection, in which they shared experiences, fellows made banners where they show their feelings and demands around sex work.
During the meeting, it was read a *statement written by Fundación Margen* to protest against the violation of privacy of the identity of female sex workers who were filmed during 6 months with hidden cameras.

Regardless of what happened with the media, the Chilean fellows remarked that it was a day of claim and encounter. “It was a moment of great joy for us because it is the first time that this day was celebrated in Chile. Together with our fellows —that worked that day—, we took the public space for a moment of reflection on the importance of the organization for vindication of our rights”, stressed from the Chilean organization.

Fight, conviction, visibility, participation and rights were some of the standards that the organization raised in a special day to evoke what happened and to vindicate our rights as female sex workers.
